My passion is to empower those experiencing pregnancy! I wake up thinking about my clients’ needs and desires and if I don’t already have the knowledge, I do as much research that’s available by reputable sources to find the answers we need to accomplish those needs and desires. I go to bed reading about pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum because it will forever fascinate me. I’m never “done” learning. I live my life with gratitude and compassion, my mind and heart are open, and I’m truly dedicated to providing quality services! This is not just a business transaction for me, it’s about making an impact that has lasting positive effects in the lives of people in my community. My goal is for you to walk in and walk out of labor feeling powerful and at peace with the most special memory of your life!

Only in the circumstance of you not having one. But no! A doula collaborates with your partner and focuses on their physical and emotional needs as well as yours. Pregnancy, labor, birth and the postpartum period are all times of coping with the unknown, learning as much as you can about what is known, supporting you, anticipation, transformation, anxiety, mourning the lives you once lived, etc. My role is to provide information, encourage, listen and guide should they need it. You only want to be touched by them? I’ll help them with comforting you if they don’t know what would be best. They need a break? I’m right there so you’re never alone. A doula compliments a partner like the perfect shoes complete an outfit. Going out without shoes isn’t unheard of, but you’re definitely not going out without clothes!

ANYWHERE! Many doulas have specific locations where they will or won’t work. But there is a doula for wherever you choose to give birth and recover. So whether you’re going the hospital route, birth center or homebirth, my support is available. All I need is the location ahead of time and its preferable but not required, to meet your midwife or OB prior to the big day.

Then I adjust my care to your needs, and you still receive exceptional support. For example, should you require an emergency cesarean birth: If the hospital’s policy allows, I will remain by your side during and after. We’ll set a schedule for postpartum care and my focus remains the same. Supporting you and your family with compassion and love. I would provide the appropriate information for coping with an emergency c-section, caring for your newborn and how to heal properly.
